Title: Wiring enthusiasts!
Post by bluesavage218 on 01/29/11 at 20:57:55

Hey guys,
If any of you could help me solve this I would much appreciate it! I want to connect the honda switches to the suzuki wiring harness. Connect the colors yay!!!  ;D If you can see my writing, I have what I think would work minus three wires form the honda switch that I can't account for.

How about a picture of the control.
Otherwise, I think you got them all.  It may just be extra.

Or is it a function that we have on the right control?

And how about the right control.

Maaan, are ya sure ya wanna DO that?

You are aware that once you put Honda parts on a Suzuki it becomes a Honduki, right? That just sounds Sooo wrong,

All the switches are the same. There's no extra so I don't what those three are. do you think leaving them off mess up like completing the circuit or anything to where it wouldn't work

Justin: If we are naming it by parts it would probably be a custom honduki davidson haha

Well if it ain't hooked up to nothin' and nothin' needs it... can't hurt to give it a shot.

Only thing I could think of is 4way flasher.

You realize that Honda and Suzuki use the same controls sometimes.....my friends 08 S 40 and my friends 2002 VT750 have the exact same controls... :o

Figured out what those extra wires are for. It's honda's version of our parking lights that we can switch to with our key. So i won't be needing those!

isn't wiring enthusiast an oxymoron?

I am not a fan, I have always said I would prefer to see a piston hanging out the side of a block before an electrical problem, cuz I KNOW what the problem is with the piston.

If I ever meet a wiring enthusiast, I will try to not offend him, but rest assured, I cant envision us being close friends, cuz I try real hard to avoid the clearly perverted or insane in my social dealings. That said, knowing such a weirdo could prove handy & I mite find a moment in life that where I could hand him something that would bring him to perfect happiness, I wouldnt just straight up alienate the guy.

Wiring enthusiast.....the less wires, the best....universal wiring-simple  and works on all bikes if you know what the wires are...

If I recall correctly, that switch symbol for the not used wires is a "normally closed", "momentary contact" switch.  Since it has a L & R on the contacts labels, I would say that the turn signal switch has 5 wires coming out of it.  You should trace the Honda wiring diagram to see where the wires go.

My guess is that they use relays and it some how it turns off the turn signals.

Did you use a continuity checker to test the turn signal wiring on the Honda switch?

I haven't yet, but I'm think I may change up everything anyway haha. I'd honestly like to get rid of switch housings so I gotta do some "figurin out" if you know what i mean.
