Title: Throttle Cable
Post by 23Skidoo on 01/29/11 at 00:49:58

A bit of advice if I may.

If I turn my handlebars to the right my throttle increases slightly, not much but enough I reccon to fail my MOT. I can't see the throttle cable snagging on anything. Any ideas what could be causing it..?

Thanks in advance

AJ

Engine off, move bar left & right, watch the throttle on the carb.

Reposition cable as it runs from bar to carb.

Open throttle & release with bars in different positions. If throttle close speed changes, mess with it.

mostly likely it's too tight from the control to the steering stem.

As ever thanks for the tips. I have a horrible feeling the bike is going to fail on Monday so don't be surprised if I suddenly start asking loads of daft questions..

My main concern is a slightly weeping fork seal.. but that is way out of my ability to sort out..

Thanks again and wish me luck

AJ
