Title: so, last winter
Post by danthewrenchingman on 01/02/11 at 20:57:02

Last winter i put about 5 week old 87 octane gasoline in my s40. Ever since then, to start my bike i have to lean it to the left.

It wont start standing straight up, which i do miss. Don't quite know what is wrong with the bike. But once it starts, it does a great job.

ps: It was my first winter, and i needed some gas to get to work. So, i just used what I had in the garage. Was funny when i got down my road, and it stalled, couldn't get it started, till i leaned it to the left.

Can't say what it is,... but,.. if my old Yamaha 225 Serow sat for more than 3 days,... I had to lean it over left and right, and then it would start and run just fine... my lawnmower used to do the same thing....
Sticky float, empty floatbowl?...

The good news....  you figured it out and gott'er started.... ;)...

On my '06 the idle drops 100-200 rpm after half a minute, when I put it in the side stand. Go figure.

I'm a movie buff. I've only been riding for one year. My mechanical knowledge is very limited.

I figured it was due to the gas I threw in the tank. But No I seriously did no know what the exact problem was.

Sorry, man, I made a political joke. You are apparently too pure to even follow the darkness of my post. I hope you manage to stay that way forever. Have Fun Dude!

What color was the gas, red or blue? I'm just following JOG's lead ;)
