Title: URGENT PRAYER REQUEST *** Beverly passed Post by LANCER on 11/24/10 at 03:04:39 I found my wife early yesterday morning totally unresponsive and with vomit/blood coming from her mouth & nose called 911 she is in ICU now in local hospital bleeding from stomach apparently vomit/blood came up and then some went back down into her lungs infection/pneumonia resulted with 102 temp now on ventilator possible heart attack as a result of the physical stress on her system kidneys also affected, but unsure of the degree lots of tubes and needles so they keep her drugged to keep her from thrashing and tearing out tubes they want to do the scope into the stomach to find the bleed source but she is not strong enough even for just that procedure ***concerned that more systems will fail PLEASE PRAY....SITUATION IS NOT GOOD |

Title: Re: URGENT PRAYER REQUEST Post by LANCER on 11/25/10 at 03:58:59 thank you all for your prayers, please continue, this has a long way to go Beverly is sedated while hooked up to the ventilator so she does not wake and move and pull out all the tubes/needles etc if unhooked right now her body could not sustain itself latest news from the heart doc is that there does not seem to have been a heart attack so that is good, her lungs seem to be clearing so that is good her temp is down from 102 to 99+ so that is good but she is EXTREMELY weak and that is very concerning they cannot even scope her stomach to look for the bleed source because she is not strong enough to handle even just that so there is slight improvement but she is still titering on the edge thanks for praying for her, her only hope is for God to do something extraordinary...she needs a miracle |

How was something so serious able to just sneak up on her? I GUess it was a shock that she was so ill? Heck, Man, get her home safe. When I have family in hospital I try real hard top keep someone there with a pen & notebook, taking notes on whats being done & by whom. I think I saved my wifes life with that ..I know we got excellent care after I started that, but I had also loaded her in an ambulance & hauled her about 300 miles to a Much Better Hospital. |

Title: Re: URGENT PRAYER REQUEST Post by LANCER on 11/27/10 at 17:19:48 thanks Mick..... nope; neither one of us smoke ***************** the vent tube is out she is breathing fairly well, with just a little O2 supplement tube no needles or tubes in the arms she was awake virtually all day ...which was good but now she is exhausted and needs sleep there is some mental confusion which is not unusual when coming off all the med's and such able to sip water from spoon on feeding tube so she is getting nutrition now (yea) all in all a very good day |

Her lungs are really BAD Still on the vent and if still so on Friday then they switch to a tracheotomy thingy This is still a 50/50 survival status |

PEACE to you and yours try to find the lighter side of the events forth coming.. one id like to share with you.. mom was in hospice and i was able to divert my brother and the grand kids and my wife etc out of the room so they could go look at assisted living/nursing home situations... (all of which were TOO gross for our finances) once we were alone i tried have THE talk with mom but she wasnt in the mood ..(one of the pamplets said give them what they want) she expressed her desire to get out of"this darn bed" so i asked her if she wanted to go play bingo..she was a bingo queen.. no just help me to the window(about 20 feet from her bed)she says.. so i get up help her in that direction and her gown opened up in the back.. so i got his 79 year old wrinkly arse staring me in the face!! :o hold on ma let me help..got her all cinched back up.. and to the windows..you wanna sit in this nice chair here(we are both outta wind by then) NO take me back to the bed.. i got her loaded back in the cocoon type bed turned on her side facin away from me..i was doin a crossword im in a chair and she lets one RIPPP...PFFFTTT...she hadnt eaten or had a bowel movement for over 36hrs at that time... i said THAT had to feel good..LOL.. she laffed too and said with a sigh YEAAHH.... come to find out she had nailed my daughter later that nite with a couple more.... i still have tears but i can still laff.. look for those times that make you laff or make you smile... as far as the "estate" settlements etc carp my half brother(mom raised me from when i was 2)put in perspective for me.. "it costs money to come into this world, and its costs money to leave it and you have to pay as go in between" your are in my thoughts am sending you the best prayers/vibes i can..you shall find PEACE...youve earned it... I appreciate the food and all but it feels strange. It is nice of them though. |
