Looks like there's at least another year left in the old girl.

Yay!!! Suzuki should've tagged the '11 LS650 as a 25th Anniversary model ... seeing as how our beloved Thumper made it's debut in 1986 ...

Actually it's pretty sad that Suzuki doesn't even bother to recognize the 25th anniversary of one of their most enduring, almost unchanged motorcycles. I expected something - I had hoped for FI but even a little fancy badging would have been a bit of recognition.   :-/

shhhhhhhhhh,  I don't know about Suzuki, but on H/D the Anniversary Models the insurance is a lot higher.

I don't claim to know near much about these bikes but I'm guessing they changed the name from Savage LS650 to Boulevard S40 in 2005? Because on that site it shows the introduction year as 2005 and not 1986. I don't know why they would do that, but it explains the lack of an anniversary edition.

It became the S40 when the rest of the lineup changed to Cubic Inch names as well.

The model designation is still LS650 as it has been for 25 years since it's introduction in 1986 and the Bike was badged the "Savage" until 2004 ... for 2005 it was re-badged the "S40" which now belongs to Suzuki's "Boulevard" Cruiser line-up ... and since the LS650 model has been around for 25 years, it's really a shame that Suzuki didn't bother to recognize it's 25th Anniversary in some way ...

Wasn't there a few years lapse in there when it wasn't made?

It was made but not sold in the American market.

The LS650 has been in production since 1986 and sold in Canada I believe every model year since then ... yes, the Savage was pulled from the American market for several years during the 90's ...
