I managed to melt some of my rainpaints on my exhaust pipe. Any suggestions as to how to clean it off. I used WD40 which takes off a lot of stuff but it didn't work. Any suggestions would be appreciated. My rain paints still work ok, just part of the learning process maybe LO That lovely material that doesn't melt should be on the outside as well as inside of the legs.

I've found that using a glass scraper worked for melted plastic when I neglected to let the header cool before putting my cover on. Just be careful, I did scratch my header a little bit using this technique, but I have clumsy hands. And for some road tar that was on the muffler, I used a penny to scratch it off. The soft copper of the penny didn't scratch the chrome.

Warm your ride up then use popcycle sticks to scrape it off. Works good and wont scratch the chrome.

I did the same thing several weeks ago.

Used some oven easy off - follow the directions and it worked great!!

There are rubberized patches in the camping section of a big store..Just slap one on & itll keep the damaged part from tearing.
