At work the other day I was tuning a 99 road king...got it to 97 Torque and then the dyno went screwy so I changed bikes to see if it was the dyno or the bike...and then put my sue harley on...ended up with 33 horse and 74 in torque. which doesn't make sense. thats more than a 1200 sportster puts out in torque. did an 883 after that. just wondering what the savage is supposed to put out?

Your HP number is accurate maybe a bit higher then specs I've seen but you may have dyslexia because the torque number should be about 45 Nm. ::)

You brag about horsepower but you ride by torque.

An old rule of thumb says you get about one ft-lb of torque per cubic inch displacement, if the engine is breathing well. That is with naturally-aspirated engines, of course. The LS650 is 40 cubic inches, so a torque of 40 ft-lb is doing pretty good. Most will not match that, running more like 30 to 35. Any time your dyno reports more than a ft-lb per inch, you should start being suspicious.

Dynamometers do not measure horsepower. They measure torque and engine speed, and compute horsepower.
