Title: Would anyone be interested in some decals?
Post by Jive on 10/08/10 at 14:27:46

I recently purchased a vinyl plotter/cutter, and am starting to make decals for my eBay store, "Evel Beaver Designs".  I was thinking I could make some "suzukisavage.com" decals for anyone that would want one.  I was looking at my Savage, and I'm not sure of a really good place to put a decal like that, assuming you wanted it on the bike.  Anyway, just testing the water a bit to see if there is any interest.

How much for a decal of my rocket power flea to fit either the side panel or tool box?

That would be awesome!  Only problem is, right now I have no white vinyl to do the white areas.  About what size would you need?

Would you be doing any decals in reflective materials? I would be interested in a lil Pink Bunny to go on my helmet. Reflective or not would be ok, price for either or both. :) kim

I'd like a Piglet to put on my helmet.

This kinda looks like he's flipping someone off though, huh?  Just an example so you knew what I meant by "Piglet"

Available area on the tool box is about 3.5" wide.
I would size it to max out the width.

Do you have clear?
I'd do the white in clear (on the chrome cover would look great)
so would just need black, blue and red.

I will be doing reflective at some point, but right now the only colors I have are black, red, blue, green, and yellow.  No pink though, sorry!

Can you do football logo's? I am a devoted Seattle Seahawk's fan. I could use that logo as you have the colors.
I would love for it to be in reflective material... kim

Just checked their logo, I could do it, but there are two problems.  First, I do not have white vinyl, so the white areas would be clear.  Second, I just have one color blue, which is more like a royal blue.   :(

I'll chime in on this, the emblem is of JG400, which was a Luftwaffe fighter group in Germany, WW2.  They flew the Messerschmidt 163 Komet, a neat little rocket powered flying wing.  It was the fastest plane of the war, but because of the small size of the plane, and the rocket motor, flight times were limited to 10 minutes.  The German txt on the logo loosely translates to "Like a flea, but OH!!!"  It happens to be my favorite plane ( I am an aviation nut!), and was glad to do Verslagen's logo!

More info on the plane here:

I got it in yesterday, thanks, will try and put it on today.

I read thru the wiki article.  it fails to mention that our local air museum has not only a replica, but the Mitsubishi version too.  Plus a Horten glider, a natter and more.

Wow, that's some good planes there!  Would love to see a Natter!  The Komet I visit, or try to at least once a year, is at the Nation Museum of the US Air Force in Dayton, OH.  They also have a nice 262 there.  You got me wondering how many Mitsubishi versions were made...

And I'd like to see the 262

I think they would've been safer if the fuel did evaporate!   :)

Is it the Planes of Fame that has the flyable Zero with the original engine?

Although there are about ten complete World War Two Japanese Mitsubishi Zero fighters still intact around the world, two of them airworthy, the Planes of Fame Air Museum at Chino Airport in Southern California boasts that Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero No 61-120 in its collection is the only fully authentic flyable example in the world. Restored to flying condition in June 1978, this Zero fighter is still powered by its original Nakajima Sakae 31 engine, a 14-cylinder radial that produces 1,200 h.p. Except for the absence of armament and a few minor equipment changes, this aircraft is essentially the same as it was when operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy during the war; it even carries the same colour scheme (right down to the precise shade of green camouflage which varied in tone from factory to factory in Japan) and markings that it bore in combat.

I'm sure they had to add wing tip lights.

You can, but I don't think it's needed.  I've had a decal on my car for the past year or so, and it still looks new.

Now I have seen people that will, say,  paint a tank, put the decal on, then put 4 or 5 coats of clear on the whole thing to where you can no longer feel the decal.
