Title: copper washers? Post by ebonysresearch on 10/05/10 at 05:41:56 anyone know the part numbers on the copper sealing washers that go under the head bolts the rocker cover bolts and other parts of the engine? when I went to the dealer the parts manager didn't see them in his schematic...so I am not sure what and how many to get. he said that if I brought them in he could match them though. thanks. |

So long as the hole size is correct and the outside diameter is bigger than the nut, and the thickness is close to the same, copper is copper and they work just fine. They are a lot cheaper than from the stealership. Phelonius |

Since the head nuts are all inside the rocker cover any minute seepage from not having the rubber center will simply be mixed with all the oil inside the ricker box anyway so I do not see a problem with plain copper washers on the head bolts. The exception being the right front one under the infamous rubber plug. Phelonius |
