Title: Backrest Dilemma Post by BarneyBWilde on 10/01/10 at 10:49:53 Wanting to take it off this weekend, but I think it would look tacky if I remove it without taking off the brackets. Any Ideas? Thanks in Advance! |
Title: Re: Backrest Dilemma Post by bluesavage218 on 10/01/10 at 11:06:15 You can get some rubber caps to cap off those rails for the time being, but I would get the side rails without the backrest. I've got a set I can sell you if you want, I just took them off of mine. |

It only stuck up an inch or so. I can't remember who it was though. Would be a nice anchor spot if you carry anything on the seat. |

Barney, I'll send you a picture of my bike sometime, and you can pull it out and say, like Crocidile Dundee, "Tacky? Now this one is tacky." |

Title: Re: Backrest Dilemma Post by SimonTuffGuy on 10/03/10 at 17:19:05 I think the bike looks sexy without the rails at all, but that requires a change in turn signals... The S40 rails that were made without the sissybar are a good option too... |

Title: Re: Backrest Dilemma Post by SimonTuffGuy on 10/03/10 at 18:27:40 The hardware store near me has these little "plugs"... I used them on my Jeep several times. http://images.grainger.com/B316_34/images/products/250x250/Hole-Plug-1ELY4_AS01.JPG Kinda looking like that. They worked really well to cover up until I got them fixed properly. |

I just covered the front three holes with a triangle of black, vinyl, sticky backed, shelf paper... ...the back one was handy for bungees... ;)... http://p1.bikepics.com/pics/2010%5C10%5C03%5Cbikepics-2072830-full.jpg |
