Title: 325 Horse Power Std Production Motorcycle
Post by Routy on 09/29/10 at 06:59:10

Where have I been ? I didn't know it existed ! But there it was on the WM parking lot, a std production BossHoss 355 horsepower ! Optional....425 hp. I talked to the guy,....he was near as big as the bike. Him and his wife out for a cool evening ride.
I can't even imagine riding one.

Should I have titled this,.....My next Ride ??? I don't think so ! :o

I know a guy that rides one.

Goes great.. as long as you don't try to turn.

In the immortal words of Ford Prefect:
"Looks like a fish, moves like a fish, steers like a cow."

He tipped it over once in the driveway.  Had to hook a cable to his tractor to pick it up.

Also available in a Big Block version. ;D

She doesn't look much bigger than me!

Quote:
A 250 would DO it, but the 650 makes it fun.
-------------------------------------------------------
Well then, what does the 355 HP make it,......
not to mention the optional 425 HP.
And that may not have been the 502 cu. in. that he said is available.
He kinda took offense when I suggested that it could be dangerous,.....
and noticing the difference in our sizes, (not to mention our age) I didn't argue w/ him,......untill I was safe in my car :o  ;D

PS, when asked what if it was ever dropped, his wife told my wife that the both of them can not pick it up,......and let me tell ya, she wadunt no lightweight either !

I think the 502 engine could also be had with nitrous, in case you had to run to the store for a quart of milk in a hurry.

Fun to look at, but I wouldn't want one. Too fat for my taste. I bet on a tight winding mountain road I'd leave it in the dust with my S40.

If I cant pick it up, I wont own it. Cuz I am liable to drop what I ride. Thats bad enough, but not being able to pick it up? Thatd just plain stink!

Exactly and the funny thing is the amount of heat pouring off that can't be good for the plums.

A Boss Hoss Cafe Racer.  I could see someone in Los Angeles having one.

The handling must be like steering an ocean liner.

I was thinking more of a desert racer with knobby tires. And nitrous.

The handlebars are about three feet wide, only look small near by the two foot wide tank:
http://paladin.savageriders.com/images/BossHossTank.jpg

http://www.californiabosshoss.com/images/cbh_53/index.html did not have the price in the Internet, so I stopped and checked the price for the new bike:
http://paladin.savageriders.com/images/BossHossTag.jpg

However, I think I would prefer the Sierra Truck Trike, it is used, so it should be a little cheaper. http://www.californiabosshoss.com/images/cbh_73/index.html
http://paladin.savageriders.com/images/BossHossTruck.jpg
I LIKE IT!  It had the trunk open . . . it has a three foot by three foot lid, and is about three feet deep -- at least 25 cubic feet, probably 30.  Easily to take two bodies out to the desert.

That HUGE radiator is soooo ugly!

I'm still trying to figure out the purpose of it.
I mean,...........what could make a person want one ?

BTW, what do we all suppose the MPG mite be on that bike ?
I'd have to guess about 35.

I figure I could built a gooseneck hitch, just past the passenger seat, and tow a small fifth trailer camper: http://www.scamptrailers.com/Showroom/19FifthWheelTrailers.aspx
All I would really need is some seven feet wide mirrors.

I'm with you Routy -- why, oh why?
And according to their website,
BHC-3 ZZ4 (355 hp) gets 20-25 mpg
BHC-3 LS3 (445 hp) gets 21-26 mpg
BHC-9 ZZ4 (355 hp trike) gets 20-25 mpg
BHC-9 LS3 (425 hp trike) gets 21-26 mpg

The LS3 trike is pretty cool looking:

For me, theyre just ridiculous. Id be driving a little sports car Long before Id be messin with one of those heavy gas guzzling things. A little car gets beter MPG, will haul stuff & has a roof & a heater & likely even an air conditioner AND I can have a car & enuff $$$ left over from Not buyinmg one of these I could go anywhere in the car. Just impractical as hekk..

Can not/can has:   haul stuff, nope; a roof, nope; heater, nope; air conditioner, ha! . . .   Hey!  This little car has NO windows, no door, no trunk, no air bags, no bumpers, *less* as impractical as a Boss Hoss.  (is lighter to boot!)

http://www.uscaterham.com/images/home/hero.jpg

I can have a car & enuff $$$ left over from  a Boss Hoss?  Not Likely!

A Caterham Superlight R500 "From $61,057" -- options addition to such things as engine and transmission.
