Similar technique but he's not as fat and he didn't point his toes.

Back in the day when I first saw the famous photo of Rolly, I went out and tried it on my 250cc BMW R26.
I only got just a little over 136 KMPH, it had a metric speedo.

whoo.. and I thought I was stupid. I feel better now. You know Rollie did it on the flats and as a last ditch attempt. Moped head is doing that for fun. Darwinism at it's best. :D

I tried to beat Rolly ,but I came close but no cigar on my 197 cc
Ambasidor, note the horn,I think that horn was the problem,to much drag.plus I was giving Rolly a 800 cc handicap.

I figured that horn was a fairing.

Too many clothes. You didn't strip down to your undies. Have a few beers and go out and try again ;D
...and,on a serious note, is that on the salt? Looks like it.

Hi Mick, your photo of the embassador took back memories to me, It was a cracking we bike and it couldn't half go, but when I would fill the tank with mix (I still remember 20:1)  , I would always just add a wee bit more oil than the measure just to be sure, and there was always a cloud of blue smoke following me, I just couldn't get out of the habit of adding that extra wee bit of oil

mebee a wee dram of Scotlands finest might have stopped the blue smoke.

When I was in the late 20's I did that on a Kawa 750. Feet straight back off the seat, layin arms across the tank, head on arm, cocked sideways so I could see betwween the clocks. Yea, its a stupid stunt,,I dont think I even got over 110 mph out of it.

if you were on a deserted road or an air strip ,it was not stupid ,it was fun and your bike was way bigger than mine. the bigger the better.
