In japan the SR400 was dropped a year or so back, but has now been reintroduced with fuel injection. There is a supplementary tank behind the left side cover to house the injector pump, a cat is hidden in the silencer and you can just make out the lambda sensor on top of the exhaust, just out of the port.So maybe there is hope for the Savage yet.

My wife had the SR500 it was a great bike,But seat height was to tall for her so traded for Suzuki GN400.

Heck, Suzuki could just buy the system from Yamaha and slap it right on there with just a tweak or two

looking for nearby sr500's. Very few around in general but Id love to have one. I notice all the bikes I like and look for are much more popular and available in San Francisco and Portland than they are here. :'(

There is a "black box" available in japan that allows retuning of the standard box for performance applications, Savage possibly ?

As in ECU ? So that you can "fine tune" an EFI bike ?

Chock full of tuning systems for bikes here in Italy, but they're mostly made for mild bikes like the 1200 Hyabusa or the MV Agusta Brutale, nothing near the likes of a ... Savage...

That F.I. SR400 is EXACTLY the type of Bike we need to have available on the North Am. market! 8-)

perhaps we should start a write-in campaign to Suzuki to turn the LS650 back into a restyled Tempter with FI
we could still put forward controls on it if we wanted that or maybe they could make it an option
I really like that retro 70's style that they did with the SR400

650 Tempter w/ FI, stage 1 cam and Supertrapp muffler and then tweak the black box for optimum efficiency of fuel and ignition timing... OH YEA !

The style of these lends them to building cafe racers easily :)
I don't see any reason why Suzuki can't make the Savage with EFI, the majority of their other bikes are.

SR400's are a big deal in japan there are all kinds of bodywork and tuning goodies available, here are some examples.

This happened accidentally, it's a SR400 with pipe and CRS carb with filter. Also various non stock oil lines.
