Title: Motor making a slight clicking noise?
Post by Jive on 08/07/10 at 18:11:39

My Savage motor makes a clicking noise while running, it's not very loud, but you can here it.  I know people have been talking about the cam chain, but my Savage only has around 4k miles on it.  Just wanting to know if it is normal, or if I should be worried?  Thanks!

p.s.  Just wondering if it could be the valves ticking?

My $ is on the valves  ;D

Some of the regulars on here can get in and adjust there's in under an hour, but I haven't tried it yet  :(

There's a good tutorial in the technical section when you're ready to do them.

The valves were my thought as well, once I did some more research.

... and , a light clicking is good for this time of year...  It means the valves aren't too tight...
Tight is bad...
