Title: Saddle bag supports for Savage
Post by Dmoney on 08/05/10 at 06:33:50

Hey Everyone-I'm a new member but have viewed Rubber Side down for almost a year since I bought a 99 Savage. What a great site with terrific info.

Can anyone tell me where I can buy saddle bag supports for my Savage?

Thanks. Dmoney

You can get them on line, or from your nearest dealer, or put a note in the Marketplace forum.

Or if you're inclined, you can make the from glavanized conduit.  Some of us have done that.  Here's a couple links to the projects.

Oneida Suzuki is one place that has the factory ones, about as cheap as I've seen, I believe.  You could also try Ebay, they show up occasionally.
Several people here have made their own.  Much cheaper.  All depends on what you want.

Haha!  Me too!!  I'm actually designing a new set right now though.  Doing some measuring, getting guys in my shop to bend some steel (maybe aluminum instead?) for me.  The set that I originally made was great, if my bags weren't so big, but I need them sturdier (if that's a word)....  will post some pics when I get it all figured out!   8-)
