Title: sv 650 parts on a savage?
Post by kamekaze on 07/25/10 at 14:09:02

Anything fun to do?  Are the wheels/brakes better than the ones on my 87 and an easy swap?  Found a cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap 2000 sv650 with a messed up motor and figured it might be worth it if I could use some parts for my ls.  Thanks y'all!

I'm mainly looking at possibly using braking and suspension parts if y'all think it would be advisable.  I know not much from this bike will be of any use on a savage, but it has brand new tires and I need brakes soon anyways and I figure if I can get an upgrade for less than it would cost for a new set of tires mounted than it would be awesome, but I have no idea if this would actually work so I'm hoping to rely on you guys!

You seen what trucky did.  And to easily swap wheels/brakes the forks most likely need to go too.  and a swap to chain drive for the rear.

problems that might arise are the forks long enough?

and it might be more fun to put the savage engine in the sv frame.

Yeah sv650 is a nice bike...  Anything is possible with a cut off tool an a welder.  Love the sv650 naked.  It looks as good as a ducati monster with similar performance and a better ride quality.  I'm sure absolutely nothing will be a direct bolt on.
