Title: Stupid Stupid!
Post by Nathan on 07/12/10 at 15:11:00

While I took apart my bike I put all my nuts/bolts in catagories in ziplock bags and sharpie'd them so I'd know what went where. I seem to have LOST my side guard bolts, does anyone know what dimensions they are so I can order some or go buy some. Went to the suzuki dealership and no such luck.

I think you are looking for item "C"
you don't need socket headed flat screws, but can use the ugly assed  old style normal bolts if you want

When you look under your fender you see that the available real estate has been encroached by some large protruding fasteners.  You can remove some of them and replace them with stainless steel flat head and pan head socket type fasteners from:

www.boltdepot.com/product.aspx?cc=25&cs=82&cm=19&cd=1318

The list of possible replacement fasteners goes like this:

Item # C
Product #6698
Metric socket flat head screws, Stainless A-2,   8mm x 1.25 x 16mm
Quantity: 4 pieces
Price: $0.54
Subtotal: $2.16

Item # B
Product #6702
Metric socket flat head screws, Stainless A-2,   8mm x 1.25 x 35mm
Quantity: 4 pieces
Price: $0.73
Subtotal: $2.92

Item #A
Product #6657
Metric socket button head screws, Stainless A-2,  8mm x 1.25 x 25mm
Quantity: 4 pieces
Price: $0.96
Subtotal: $3.84

Item #D  Welded Nut
Shorten slightly with 4" grinder
Overmold (blend a hump) with JB Weld Epoxy
Paint with silver touch up paint

Item #E  (not shown) Mounting bolt for Right Buddy Peg
Shorten slightly with 4" grinder
Paint with black touch up paint

They will turn up immediately after you buy new ones. Save the receipts.

Dont bother looking. You wont find it until you've ordered new ones anyway.

hahahaha I have looked and looked. no hole in the bag, no bag at all! I can't find any of it. Got the size of the bolts I need tho turns out they are same size as my bolts that hook on the tool case holder, bringing them down tomorrow to the bolt/nut warehouse to get some extras!

They're sitting next to your dog's favorite toy... he probably thought the grease smelled pretty good but then found the taste wasn't to his liking...  :D

OR

Crouch in the position you were when putting all the bolts in the ziplock bag and put your hand in your pocket...
...now, what were you wearing when you did that ?

Go to the laudry basket and retrieve the bag from the overalls in the "icky" clothes bin.

8-)
