Title: Safety Note!! Post by Oldnewguy on 07/08/10 at 10:39:51 I just had an experiance that I thought I would pass along as a safety note. I just encountered my first heat bump. It was a beauty. :-[ It wasn't there yesterday, but due to the heat, it's there today! It darn near did me in 'cause I wasn't expecting it! :P |

Title: Re: Safety Note!! Post by Oldnewguy on 07/08/10 at 11:01:25 The asphalt or concrete expands at a seam because of the heat and heaves up. Sorry for the confusion. :-[ |
Title: Re: Safety Note!! Post by bill67 on 07/08/10 at 11:07:30 We get then a lot in Wisconsin and because of the freezing in the winter and then expanding in the summer. |
Title: Re: Safety Note!! Post by Serowbot on 07/08/10 at 11:15:24 Urban roads here, are heat cracked every 20 ft... Then,.. they repair them with tar snakes... That's why I went to 12.5" shocks... and I usually run my tires a little low... |
Title: Re: Safety Note!! Post by babyhog on 07/08/10 at 11:31:30 We have them too, and I noticed they were a little worse lately. I have a couple mile stretch of them on my way to work. The outside tire track seems to be the best side, less of a ramp! |
Title: Re: Safety Note!! Post by Oldnewguy on 07/08/10 at 12:14:01 My only problem was the surprise. Not there yesterday but there today. I thought I knew where all of them were. :-/ |
