Title: 87 carb on a 2000 bike Post by srinath on 06/14/10 at 07:24:43 I have that combo. I have also a cut and baffled exhaust with an end cap inside a perforated tube that I am thinking of as a "baffle". Essentially I pulled off the can, welded up a 6 inch perforated 1 5/8th sleeve onto it, put an end cap in it and over it I slipped a turn out pipe. The bike has what I could characterize as a cough both @ idle and at around 1/4 throttle. I have almost the exact same thing without change from 2 turns of air screw to 4. I am running stock 87 jetting if I recall. Anyone know what could be happening. I should pull the plug and look at it, sadly the bikes wreck last week killed my time last week ... Also The thing wasn't doing that before I put the end plug in the exhaust I am sure, but it was loud and nasty ... I hated it. Cool. Srinath. |
