Title: Hello!
Post by Nathan on 06/05/10 at 15:16:18

Hey guys just wanted to introduce myself
My names Nathan I'm an 18 year in grade 12 about to graduate! I'm from northern Saskatchewan up in Canada and I bought my 86 ls650 Savage last summer. Planning on taking it for a couple of longer trips this summer but mostly just city riding and rips out to the lake so far.
Here's a picture of my baby, It's a shame looking at this thing right now because I have it in pieces in my dads garage at the moment. I've been taking it apart to paint my tank/fenders/sideguards so hopefully ill have that done in the next week or so and ready to ride! Im kinda just learning about it as I go along with help from my dad who's road all his life! Anyways this is getting long so I'd just like to say I'm stoked to be apart of this!

Welcome aboard Nathan.

Nice bike, no rust  ;)  What color r u painting it?
How's that 25y/o engine?
4 gears? I like that gearbox better than the 5-speed.

Be sure to keep us up to date on your project (w/photos pls).
L8r.

Well for riding in a summer averaging at 8 hours per day there is roughly about 896 hours of riding and thats saying with about 4 months of summer. That being said it definitely varies on our amount of snow and how hot (and how fast) it gets. But other than that I love it. The motor runs great! Im planning on reseting the points a bit on her to start a littler quicker, and get the exhaust going a little better but other then that, the 4 speed I love. It totally thumps. Gives me exactly what I wont, as for colour im leaning towards a matte black. what do you guys think??? give me some feed back???

Welcome Nathan, great looking bike you have there. If by chance their are questions your Dad can't answer concerning your bike, their are many knowledgeable people here. It seems their is nothing that can't be answered about the mechanics of this bike.

Enjoy working and getting to know your bike. I can't wait to see more pics and read of your journey's.

Have you given your bike a name yet?   :) Kim

HaHa, I like it

that's what all the harley will call it when they see it.

After they can't shake your "moped" you can tell 'em it's "Mr. HaHa" to you bub.
