Title: Quick wirring question
Post by Edgar on 06/04/10 at 22:45:38

I'm gonna take off the stock rear fender and make a new one and aftermarket brake light and turn signals, just on the rear. All I want to know is if the wirring is going to be as simple as I think in my head. Is it just splice solder/tape then cap em and we're good to go??? (crossing fingers)

You'll find out, won't ya?

for the most part yes, but most sig's are made for harley's.
nothin' wrong with that as long as you got good grounds back to the engine.
most likely you won't, but easy fix, run a ground wire to the sig's metal housing.

Gotcha, I was just hoping there wasn't going to be anything overly complicated because wirring scares me. But I'm sure I'll figure it out! Thanks!

Yes, turn signal and tail/brake light wiring is very simple.

Wiring don't scare me a bit,.......unless it starts smokin,.....then I get a little concerned ! :o

I used new connectors from the pArt store And wire.  Just unplugged under the seat wiring and plugged my wiring into the connectors.  Cleaner Nd no splices in harms way.  Used an eBay set with one power wire and case ground.   Used an eye connector big enough to go around mount bolt to ground for extra good ground.  Brakes a little harder with 2 power and one ground .  Use manual for wire colors or a volt meter to find what's what.
