I need to take off the rear wheel to mount a new fender. Is it hard to do? Do I need special tools?

Any pointers from exp?

A 3rd arm would be handy going back together. Holding the brake guts in place, lining up the slot/tab & getting the axle in is kinda a hassle, but its not too bad.

I use a 2x4 for the third arm. I raise the back end just enough to get the tire off. When I put it back on I lay a 2x4 on the ground, put the tire on that and then I can get one hand on each side with my toes under the 2x4 from behind the bike. Brake in my right hand, spacer in my left, and wiggle my toes to line up the axle.

Lower the bike slowly back on to the tire using your jack. Insert the pieces as you can and line them up.
Go to a motorcycle shop and watch how they do it.

1st time?
take a little more off so you don't have to wrestle nothin'
then when you figure it out leave more on.

jack up just till the wheel spins, take off left shock, pulley cover, belt guard, brake cable, axle, push wheel forward, slip off belt, jack up more, roll out wheel.

No. Metric wrench set is all you need.

The shocks do not over extend like struts on a cage. You will not need special tools to compress it to put it back on.
Is that what you are worried about?

There maybe some mismatch between left and right shock making it difficult to get the shocks on. If so let the bike down some to ease reassembly.

putting on the rear wheel is simple even by yourself. try this. i took a large phone book and opened up halfway till the wheel lined up with the frame slots and just rolled it up and stuck the axle thru. put the whole wheel assembly together first and then roll in. dont try to piece it together after installed. takes maybe 5 minutes for the whole job
