Title: oil level Post by rl153 on 05/26/10 at 11:14:48 My oil level is almost to the top line after ,about an 1/8 inch below,after running the bike from cold for 3 minutes ,then letting it rest for 3 minutes ,standing straight up. I guess it's supposed to be 1/2 way between the two marks ideally . Do you think this is too much oil ,or is there some leeway?Thanks |

Title: Re: oil level Post by BurnPgh on 05/26/10 at 11:20:10 fill it as high as you dare. Too much oil isnt a big problem (to an extent) since our bikes run oil at low psi. Old Feller routinely fills his until he can see a wee bit of oil at the bottom with the bike on the kickstand. I routinely fill mine so the window is totally full with the bike upright as the manual says. If you want to stay within the fill lines fill it to the top line. I suggest always filling high and keep checking it every day. You might have a leak you're not fully aware of or you might burn more than you'd expect. |

After I stopped for 2 minutes the oil level with the engine hot was filled to the top line of the oil level lines .It seems like my valves are making noise and I get the feeling like I don't have enough oil in there ,but I don't know if I should run more .I don't want to blow any seals .The bike only has 3k mi on it .I don't know . |

Amazing how she feels with new oil vs. 4k mile oil. Next time I'm ignoring the manual and changing around 3k-3.5k |
