Title: excess hose clamp Post by DrunkenDwarf on 05/25/10 at 18:53:41 I think one of the noises that I have is the little tab of excess hose clamp that holds on the heat shield that covers the muffler/header joint. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51NFSSB7CWL._SS400_.gif What are some suggestions for securing or removing the end? I can't get close enough with tin snips. -D. Dwarf |

Title: Re: excess hose clamp Post by Chief Gunner on 05/26/10 at 09:21:24 Talk to a good muffler shop, there are insulator pads with a sticky backing that they use on exaust pipes that run near other metal objects. Don't ask me how the glue works with the heat, it just does. I had some on the underside of the heat shield that protects your right leg before I had it re-cromed. Cut a small piece and stick it under the tag end. If you cut off too much of that tag end you'll never be able to reuse the clamp if you have to remove it. (Darwin will give you a reason as soon as you cut it) I have seen these pads at auto stores, but they are not carried everywhere. Good luck. |
