Nice job on the bike, even better job getting the good write up.

So, the Savage can make a nice bobber and a nice cafe racer ....

But it is the wee bagger that goes and gets the groceries !!!

love it! I noticed the kit doesn't come with a new rear rim. Any idea what getting one laced up would be?

I got mine done at a place called Buchanan's in Azusa, CA. It's about $100 to lace and true the wheel.

They are Firestone Deluxe Champions available from Coker Tire.

However, I'll have to do some testing before recommending them for wet weather. :)

Actually, I wouldn't recommend them at all. They are so tall, I had to modify the swingarm with something I call "The Cookie Monster Mod".

But an 18" rim with modern tires works fine.
