Title: Bobber wiring Post by mikelhsr1982 on 04/28/10 at 20:22:56 The wiring I have now is in many pieces. I have looked into making my own harness but cant make heads or tails of the diagrams in the TECH section. So what Im asking is, does anyone know how to make a simple wiring harness or have a simple easy to read diagram. Thanks |

Title: Re: Bobber wiring Post by mikelhsr1982 on 04/29/10 at 17:38:04 This one is a little better, but I still have no clue. I dont know which wire goes to which on the ignition switch, or the starter relay. |

Title: Re: Bobber wiring Post by mikelhsr1982 on 04/29/10 at 19:14:30 I think my real problem is the key switch, I have brown, red, and two orange wires. Also the two small posts on the starter relay. That last pic motivated me not to give up yet, lol thanks |

Title: Re: Bobber wiring Post by verslagen1 on 04/29/10 at 21:08:01 as the diagram shows some question marks, I'm not sure those hooks ups are right. It looks right but go at it with some caution. that being said... the bike will start without the decomp, but make sure you back up against the compression stoke before hitting the button. And I wouldn't recommend it for a pre '95 at all. '95's have a torque limiter in the starter that keeps the engine from going backwards and busting out the starter bosses. the reason for the decomp is to release compression on the 1st stroke because the starter won't go thru it w/o some inertia from the flywheel. |
Title: Re: Bobber wiring Post by mikelhsr1982 on 04/29/10 at 22:24:55 Thanks for the help and info. Im going to hit this wiring head on. Or most likely get mad and set back for a couple days. |
Title: Re: Bobber wiring Post by mikelhsr1982 on 05/03/10 at 05:00:19 Another crazy question. I found a diagram from a bike builder online, and it doesnt include the Ignition/CDI box. Is this a have to have component. |
