I think that's pretty neat.  Hopefully they will come down from $500!

Cool idea, and really not much spendier than some of the Shoei and Arai helmets.  Wonder if they'd be comfy on my odd shaped head? :D

So, you getting any royalties from that modeling gig for Michaelangelo??

(Michelangelo's Moses has horns because one of the biblical translations of "rays of light" became "horns" in Italian. Because of this mistranslation, depictions of Moses with horns has become somewhat commonplace.)   -- thanks to http://www.eyeconart.net/history/Renaissance/michelangelo.htm

This idea is very similar to sunglasses that allow you to see behind you.  The problem is that some people become nauseous, when using them.  Being able to see in front of you and behind you with mirrors while you are moving forward, can disturb the body's equilibrium and in some people, create a sea/motion sickness effect.  This helmet is very different than rear view handlebar mirrors because its mirror is right in your face and hard to not constantly look at, just like the rear view mirror sunglasses. I would insist on a trial demo before buying.

And I noticed that they didn't show what it would be like at night - with headlights shining into your eyes (no mention of a flip/switch to change the angle of the mirror to a night time use or off)

Wouldn't the place in the back of the helmet that lets in the image weaken the integrity of the helmet?

What about the seven years bad luck if you break that mirror with your head in there?

:D

Why not get a backup camera for cars and put on the back,I think I've seen them for around a $100.

thats all good and well, until u become used to just the mirror on the back of your head, then your lady gets on and all u see is her helmet and you've forgotten how to check the side mirrors!!!!

how you train is how u'll perform!!!! since the use of guns has become nuts almost everywhere my instructor is making it mandatory to take several firearms training courses, we already train with stick and knife, why not?

Looking at the diagrams, it seems to me the mirror is wrapped around the outside of the shell, and enclosed in that piece that goes over the top of the helmet.  I think? :-?

Looks like a useful helmet, the vision so the rear seems to be pretty good and that would be very helpful when riding...especially seeing that nut behind you who is coming up at a high rate of speed and has no idea you are sitting at the stop light !

And yes, a passenger on behind would certainly render it useless..
This thing only works when solo.

and $500 ?  I dont think so.  They say they have redesigned the helmet to reduce wiind noise...thats nice, but not worth $500.  And the rearevier mirror itseld wouldbe pretty darn inexpensive to build.  A small piece of polished SS or similar with a little window on back and a cover over top, and that is it.  EASY TO MANUFACTURE...VERY EASY.
Put the darn thing in a standard priced helmet and add $50, and that would sell.

Did you hear in the add ?  They want to market this to law inforcement...which = keeping the price high for gov't contracts.

i wonder how it looks in the rain  :D

they should let US test it out!
