Title: Does a 96 rear seat and sissybar fit 06?
Post by shiphteey on 04/20/10 at 07:03:22

What all is involved to make this work?  I had my 96 already removed and sold and a guy on an 06 wanted the backrest setup for his wife.  I looked up the side brackets and they come up as different part numbers...do the 96 style at least mount in the same holes?

Any help would be appreciated.

No. He'll need to drill new holes to accommodate.

Rear seat and sissy bar.

Sissy bar -  he will need the sissy bar side brackets (any year) plus the sissy bar.

Rear seat (like two piece seat) - Why???  The sissy bar works with the one peice seat that is on the '07's.  But any how......  the rear two peice section mounts by hooking into a loop just under the sissy bar and bolts to a nut welded to the fender just behind the front seat.  that '07 has neither of those and would they need to be fab'd.

Gotcha...thanks!

On that note, what is the most popular way of adding  a sissybar to the S40 Boulevard (single seat)?
