due to unsightly rust ....and the fact that i like flat black....any help on getting them off would be great,also need to paint my header any advice on what paint would be the best...........one day i might figure out how to post my bobber pics..thanx 4 any an all h3lp..

First, posting pics is really simple, but you have to first upload your pics to a 3rd party website such as bikepics or photobucket and then follow the following step by step directions:

Now, for removing the forks I'm sure there are others that have completely removed them, but I have only slid them down in the triple trees so that I could put the signal mounts back on. If I recall, I just had to loosen some bolts and take the top cap nuts off to get them to slide down. I'm sure if you are removing them completely you will have to disconnect your brake caliper and other things.

So I suppose the top of the fork tubes are a bit rusty.
easy enough.
remove wheel
remove caliper
remove fender
loosen turn signal clamp
remove fork top caps
loosen bottom clamp
for should slip to the ground if you remembers to jack the front end up.
loosen all the bolts before you jack it up.

thank's..........forks are the one thing i have never taken off a bike before,project #2 is to make a solo seat pan w/springs,project#3 comes at end of summer....cam chain tensioner...hmmmm where would i find one of those..stay cool,ride safe an have a nice summer
