does anyone know where i can find a full aftermarket exhaust system for my savage? i would like it to be seemless and still sound good with deeper tone. the louder the better but not so loud to where it sounds disgusting.

Best you're going to get without having one custom made is a raask from sweden. Thanks to tax and import fees they run about $600 US.

would it be wiser to make one myself, and just paint it when it's finished, instead of paying up to $600?

TheFid - this product could be bloody interesting. I'm gonna send them a post and see what kind of response I get for a big single exhaust system.

Made for the Yamaha SR500 but should fit. The standard version is what Im looking at. Looks a bit shorter on the muffler end than stock but pretty much the same otherwise. The mounting flange is different so dont throw away your stock one. ID is 1.5in, muffler end has same OD as stock header. The lip on the cylinder end is my only concern really. It isnt 1 peice but $150 for a new header, and $20-30 for a muffler off ebay beats Raasks price.

A 1.5" ID header will make a significant difference with any decent flowing muffler
