Look into the slide (big plunger with needle attached to it), in the hole where the big spring was. You will see a butterfly looking piece of metal with two small screws. Under that thingy. Needle runs through it.

Okay im trying like hell not to sound like the kid with a helmet on a short bus......butt...... the cover with 3 screws and the BIG spring on the side of the carb.... that has a plunger and a black diaphram/// underneath that is nothing???

Under the float with the little pointy thing.... theres nothing under there? the only thing I've found is a small washer with slits cut into the  side... is that the correct washer?

I dont want to shave down the incorrect part...

:) I could swear it's the big cover on the TOP (not the side) with FOUR (not three) screws hodling it in place.
when you remove it, there's a FOOT long spring. Take it out.
Stick your finger into the hole, there's an INCH wide grey slide (plunger) with 2 inches (not little) long needle attached to it. Slide the plunger out somehow.
Now, look into the plunger, where the spring was. There's a weird shaped metal piece (with slits) held down by two screws. It has a hole in the middle with needle end sticking out. Unscrew screws. They are easy to strip, be careful. Push hard, turn lightly. Under it is the white washer.

I did the same thing,.....but I could have known the tank had to come off.
Again, be carefull you don't strip them little screw heads. Tho not easy, I used an impact driver on them.

Number 6... reduce the thickness by one third,... or buy a number #4 nylon washer at Ace Hardware (perfect fit and thickness).... ;)...

Hahaha, that's the spirit. Don't have to remove the tank. Just loosen it on that end and turn the carb to one side
