Title: Buckhorn Type Bars
Post by Ebikerman on 03/09/10 at 15:18:43

I see from searching that the LS650 buckhorn bars will fit a newer '(06) S40 without adding parts or lengthening cables and wires. My question is... will the buck horns move the grips closer to the rider? That is, if I take the tall risers and remove the inner bent section to make them much lower. Thanks, ebikerman

Yes, buckhorn with short risers will move the grips further back then drag bars and tall risers.

but, god knows what shipping is,... it would a huge box...

Might be better to find someone close....

Anybody?... :-?

5'8", 31" inseam, stock 2000 with buckhorns.  Don't have other bars to compare with but you can see how the buckhorns fit me.

The camera adds 10 pounds.  I had five cameras pointed at me.

Looks from the photo that buckhorns will be just fine. I am 2 inches taller than Paladin with about the same inseam, maybe a little longer. Everybody's input is greatly appreciated and helpful. Just what I needed to make the decision. The photo was extremely helpful. By the way, I already have the buckhorns. I bought them new several months ago on ebay, but thanks for the offer....Dan

And nobody mentioned that you can roll the buckhorns forward or backward to where they are comfortable for you.  After a few different rides, I would adjust the angle until they were just right.  Don't have that option with the drag bars.

I have a set for the same price listed above - shipping might be a bit better, I'm in WV.  PM if you want them.
