Title: Flasher Relay Post by Stones on 02/16/10 at 10:06:52 I fitted some mini indicators recently and noticed they didnt blink as easily as the standards, infact had to give the bike some revs to get them going. I put this down to the bike needing a good run to put some charge back in the battery as i dont get much chance atm to use it. Anyway today they have given up to ghost ::) Checked the fuses there fine so i suspect the flasher relay may have been the original problem ? Hidden under the fuel tank i imagine. |

Title: Re: Flasher Relay Post by Serowbot on 02/16/10 at 10:35:35 Yup,.. right-side front, under tank... a car flasher relay will work fine (way cheaper),... just take your old one in and match the connections... get an electronic relay if you are going to LED signals... |
Title: Re: Flasher Relay Post by thumperclone on 02/16/10 at 18:46:40 the stock flasher is a thermal brek type if the load is too great(or bad connection)flash rate is slowed.. if the load is too small(leds)flash rate is too fast.. some yaers ago i got a ticket in my truck while towing a u haul trailer cause my flash rate was too fast(load too low) |
Title: Re: Flasher Relay Post by Rocco on 02/16/10 at 19:17:21 i had the same problem! i went to auto store after auto store looking for a match but to no avail lol the sales guy told me "car parts don't go on bikes" what a tool, lol get a universal one, put some female connectors on and slap the tank back on!!!!! don't mistake the starter solenoid for the flasher relay like i did, i looked up the part and it showed me the wrong pic ahahahahaa |
