I have bolt-on saddlebags on my 2007 S40. They are synthetic leather, made by Saddlemen for a Harley Sportster. I had to remove the rear fender trim castings to mount them, so the stock Suzuki passenger backrest cannot be used on my bike. ad shows itll fit the s40,you may some spacers if you removed the fender rails..

Did you end up trying this backrest. It seems nicer and the luggage rack seems sturdier than stock.

I ordered from Value Accessories and was well pleased with the service. And they are the only people I know of who give written instructions and diagrams on the website. It lets you know if its an easy job or not before you order. ;)
