Title: A Tad Frustrating
Post by prechermike on 01/13/10 at 14:48:08

I realize I have a 23 year old bike.  I know I am not the original owner.  I know little things, like screws and bolts fall to the floor and roll far, far away.

But it is frustrating to work on the bike and have to have a dozen different tools to take the battery out.  OK, I admit I was already not happy that my battery was dead.  I am trying to replace things with the allen head fasteners.  But does everyone's battery have a flat and a phillips head on the cables?

I didn't think so!

Nope, the stock bolt is a 10mm hex with a phillips recess in the middle.

And that's what comes on almost every replacement battery.

On the bright side, it drives the Harley guys nuts to have to have a metric wrench in their toolbox.

OK, the battery is back in and eveything that I put back in was the allen head stuff, even the battery connectors.  I'm ready for next time.
