Title: Hard to warm up in the cold Post by savagehaz on 12/17/09 at 07:56:17 When the temp drops into the 50's in Florida, my Savage takes forever to warm up and stalls if you don't let it run for about 3 minutes. Any suggestions on how to fix this? 8-) |

Then go ride it. It warms up MUCH more quickly being ridden than just idling. Up here in Nebraska, fifty degrees would be a pretty decent riding day, if the snow ever melts. Though there is disagreement over the matter, I personally feel idling an engine to warm it up is a bad idea, because it leads to uneven engine heating especially around the exhaust valves. |

Title: Re: Hard to warm up in the cold Post by Routy on 12/17/09 at 14:04:56 Mine was really cold blooded, ran better at 1 click almost all the time at 1/4 - 1/2 throttle,.......untill I did the white spacer mod. Now when its near freezing is needs a click or 2 for a couple minutes, but then runs perfect at all speeds. |
