Title: Handlebar height Post by Angelis on 12/16/09 at 12:51:07 Hey everybody, I'm new here. I've been thinking about buying a Savage/S40, and seeing as how I can never leave things well enough alone; I was wondering if someone could do me a quick favor. I've searched around for this info and couldn't find it anywhere. Could anyone who still has a stock seat & handlebars measure the height difference between them, for me? Like handlebar-floor height, minus seat-floor height. I usually switch out my bars, but the police around here(KW, Ontario) really hate handlebars that are more than 15" higher than the seat; and I'd like to know how much higher I can go. Thanks a bunch; love the forum. |

You wont believe the people who have them who have owned in excess of 20 bikes down thru the years & have settled on the Savage as their favorite all round bike. You can look around at the mods done by the people here. Youll see the potential. |

Angel, Be advised that there are at least two styles of handlebars used on the Savage over the years. Mine (see signature) has the "pullback" bars; these have a noticeable rise. Some other years feature flatter "drag" bars. The measurement you were seeking will be less than 13 inches for a bike equipped with the drag bars. |
