Title: Handlebar swap
Post by VanHanlon on 11/29/09 at 16:08:16

Suppose a guy wants to switch the buckhorn bars from his '05 to the older style pullback bars.  What would that guy need (aside from the bars)?  New hoses, cables, risers???

Thanks,
Jonathan

VanHanlon,
I also want to know all that. I believe the buckhorn bars or pullbacks you mention are the older style and the new ones are better called something else like drag bars, flat bars, etc. That's just my opinion....Dan

If you got the buckhorns you can switch to drags no problem.
Your cables are an inch or so longer.
When you get the drags, makes sure to get risers of similar length or you'll have trouble clearing the tank.
Another option are z-bars or medium rise HD type bars.  No risers needed.

I think you're correct.
The newer S40 has taller risers and if you install the bars off of a ls650 the cables and lines might be too short unless you change the risers also.
