Title: savage lifespan Post by pigthumper on 11/25/09 at 15:05:36 What kind of high mileage Savages are out there? Anybody getting like 50000 miles outta these engines? Thanks |
Title: Re: savage lifespan Post by verslagen1 on 11/25/09 at 15:27:26 I got 46k on the '96 and would've gone farther before I hop it up. But the clutch cam let go as I had an '88 with a new '02 engine ready to go, I swapped over to it. Otherwise I would have waited until 50k. |

I had one that ate an exhaust valve at 42K, but it was owned by a moron, who has blown up a honda matic and a GS500 before and after the savage. For him 42K is more like 242K. Cool. Srinath. |

Title: Re: savage lifespan Post by serenity3743 on 11/28/09 at 05:26:34 I got 51,000 miles and decided it needed a rebuild. Made some mistakes and couldn't get it right, so I'm on my second motor with approximately 22,000. |
