Title: FUEL TAP
Post by KNOCKDOLIAN on 11/19/09 at 12:20:54

Hi all, two questions rearly. first is my 94 Savage fuel tap has three positions. ON OFF PRI. Is there a tap with a res available or any type of fuel guage. I had to push it about 1.5 miles tonight.  Also is there an oil pressure guage/light available?
Thanks

Have you or the previous owner ever replaced the petcock? Your's sounds like it may have been replaced with a Raptor petcock or modified. A stock petcock has ON RES PRI.

I believe there are several threads about the oil pressure being really low (like 6psi or something like that) so there is no need for a gauge/light. Just be sure you check the oil level frequently to make sure you are in the "safe" zone, and keep the idle set no lower than approx 1000-1100 rpm (this will keep enough oil circulating to maintain proper lubrication)

If we are talking about a stock petcock (all years being identicle)
You have ON, RES and PRI
which is On, Reserve and Prime.
On has a raised inlet in the tank so there is a reserve.
Reserve has the lowest inlet to drain the tank completely
Prime has the same inlet as reserve.
