Title: Re: Angies'frigid digits Post by youzguyz on 11/19/09 at 10:38:40 Are those stiff enough to keep them from pushing into the brake handle (and turning on your brake light)? The mitts I got for mine have that problem. I need to make a bracket that hooks to the mirror stem and goes all the way out to the end of the handle bar.. someday. |

Title: Re: Angies'frigid digits Post by photojoe on 11/19/09 at 12:40:36 I bought these for $18 last year: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/4/22/263/4851/ITEM/Quadboss-Hand-Mitts.aspx and they got me through the winter even riding at 20F. Those and gauntlet gloves kept my fingers toasty. |
Title: Re: Angies'frigid digits Post by spacepirates on 11/19/09 at 13:48:12 Why spend the money when you're sitting on a big heater? I just reach down every few minutes and grip the engine for a few seconds. Provided your gloves are the right material and don't burst into flames (or singe, melt, or otherwise irreversibly change for the worse), you get a nice burst of heat. ... Course this works best on short trips through the city, and is mildly dangerous on a highway for long distances... |
Title: Re: Angies'frigid digits Post by skatnbnc on 11/20/09 at 05:28:31 I do that with my leather gloves on. "Hug the Jug" someone told me once. :) |

Title: Re: Angies'frigid digits Post by Angie on 11/20/09 at 11:30:37 So you're an MA, with a dim bulb and Moose's on your grips. Humm, no wonder why I like you. ;D Thanks for thinking of me though, I appreciate the info. Now all I need is the gauntlet gloves, the wrap to go under my helmet, some chaps and heavier jacket. Oh, and a new seat. Hope Santa is good to me this year. ;) |

Title: Re: Angies'frigid digits Post by EJID on 11/20/09 at 15:00:02 Came across these on ebay, and thought of this thread. Of course they are not listed to work with our bikes, but they may or may not work with a little coercion. http://i.ebayimg.com/18/!Be4R5YwB2k~$(KGrHqMOKiEEr)ThlC0,BK+EzVw-ew~~_35.JPG http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/national-cycle-hand-wind-deflectors-kawasaki-suzuki_W0QQitemZ170406221461QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item27ad009695 Here's the fitment details from cruisercustomizing.com http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/detail.cfm?Category_ID=37&manufacturer_ID=48&product_ID=9556&sblid_name=National_Cycle_Hand_Deflectors___Kawasaki_Suzuki_for_Kawasaki_Vulcan_1500_Classic_Fi&model_id=0 |
