Title: Timing chain jumped, need help Post by Augusto on 11/16/09 at 17:50:42 Hi everyone, I have this problem, the timing chain jumped and I took it apart to install a new one but I discovered that there are no timing marks to install the cam sprocket, I found one in the flywheel for TDC but have no clue how the cam sprocket goes, it has 2 bolts and a pin. Do the bolts go horizontal or vertical? or the pin aligns with something? how this thing goes? thanks in advance. Augusto. |

Title: Re: Timing chain jumped, need help Post by Augusto on 11/16/09 at 18:27:29 you mean the end that is oposite to the sprocket? I guess in the end face of the shaft correct? it has a notch in there that I tried to align with something with no luck but I'll pay attention to your reply. thanks a lot Augusto. |

Title: Re: Timing chain jumped, need help Post by Yonuh Adisi on 11/17/09 at 14:25:42 If your chain jumped, you need to check the guides and the tensioner as well as the chain for excessive wear. |
Title: Re: Timing chain jumped, need help Post by Augusto on 11/18/09 at 12:10:41 new chain installed, but the tensioner is extended very far out... I'll leave it like this anyway, I won't mess with it anymore. Augusto. |
Title: Re: Timing chain jumped, need help Post by BurnPgh on 11/18/09 at 12:22:31 the tensioner will extend about 8mm even when the chain and guides are brand new. Look into the Verslavy modification to extend the life of your chain/guide system. |
