Title: ok, changed my mind, KENDA SUCKS (kinda).
Post by Stimpy on 10/15/09 at 14:19:29

So about 2 years ago I bought a pair of
Kenda Challengers at a very decent price
(less than $100 for both uninstalled) and all has
been fine and well with their overall performance,
no flats, no complaints, they handle great in all kinds
of terrain and have excellent wet surface grip.

They are not cruiser tires, but more like street/track tires
so they curve just wonderfully. The rear is a #140 (barely fits)
and has given NO problems at all and is as solid as the day I
installed it; the front is stock size and the problem is that
after only 3k miles has developed these weird "rat bites", my
friends say it could be a factory defect  with the rubber compound,
the problem appears to be mostly aesthetic and presents NO
handling problems but I just don't like this form of wear and
tear the tire has taken, oh well, here are some pics, any thoughts?

Conclusion: I guess you really get what you pay for.

There is a problem with the tire compound, can't see how it is safe. Get ahold of the manufacturer, those puppies are defective.

Back tire...I would ride it till it pops.
Front tire...You ase asking for an extended hospital stay.
Lets see, 100.00 for both tires vs. 100,000.00 in doctor bills...do the "maf"!

I had new car tires that did that. Sears replaced free, defective. I wouldn't ride those to my dog's house out back.

I have a pair of challengers on the chopper. 800 miles and they seem just fine. Have to keep an eye on em. Front is a 21 too, not much left if it starts chunking.
Cool.
Srinath.
