Title: Spark Plug Wrench Size? Post by Routy on 09/21/09 at 17:30:14 Anyone know the wrench size? The socket in the tool kit wouldn't fit,....too small. Is it a mm size? I did get it out w/ a 3/4"....I think it was, but it fit very loosely. If it is a mm size, I want to get a deep socket to fit it right. thanks |

Title: Re: Spark Plug Wrench Size? Post by verslagen1 on 09/21/09 at 18:13:43 18mm look in lawn mower shops, I've seen some made the same way as mine in the garden section of some hardware stores, but didn't have a sparky to check. |

Title: Re: Spark Plug Wrench Size? Post by PTRider on 09/21/09 at 20:03:38 18mm hex inside and really skinny outside. Most 18mm sockets are too fat outside to fit. |
Title: Re: Spark Plug Wrench Size? Post by boofer on 09/21/09 at 20:12:52 Good point. That's why I got this one. It's fairly skinny. No problems. 3/8 Drive Boofer |
Title: Re: Spark Plug Wrench Size? Post by Dj12midnit on 09/21/09 at 20:43:29 Well great I have no auto zone. |
Title: Re: Spark Plug Wrench Size? Post by boofer on 09/21/09 at 21:09:11 Dj, if you're not in a hurry go to Autozone website, click accessories, tools, hand tools, sockets, 18mm....They will ship in two days. $5.29 plus shipping. Didn't go that far. But I would try NAPA, Carquest, Advance, O'reilly, etc. If you can't find one PM me and I'll get one to you. Just guessin, but shipping USPS should be less than $5. Boofer |
Title: Re: Spark Plug Wrench Size? Post by Savage_Amusement on 09/22/09 at 07:06:24 You can also go to wal-mart as much as I hate to say it. Stanley has one in a kit of several other metrics and it fits just fine. |
Title: Re: Spark Plug Wrench Size? Post by Oldnewguy on 09/22/09 at 10:50:07 I use 3/4, it fits well enough to not cause a problem. |
Title: Re: Spark Plug Wrench Size? Post by Digger on 12/11/09 at 20:00:51 Just look for a deep-well 3/8" drive 18mm socket. Craftsman, among others, should work. |
Title: Re: Spark Plug Wrench Size? Post by justin_o_guy2 on 12/11/09 at 20:07:21 Theres boxes of different sized thin walled spark plug sockets in the power tool section at home depot.cheap. |
Title: Re: Spark Plug Wrench Size? Post by Rocco on 12/11/09 at 21:39:04 i used a 18mm craftsman socket that wasn't a sparkplug socket. seemed 2 work out fine though |

Good call. I like to loosen the plug a turn or so before I blow the dirt out. |
