Title: Cheap ballistic nylon jackets!
Post by boofer on 09/03/09 at 00:16:55

Hey guys,
I hope this is in the right place. Iron Pony.com has Nitro Riding Jackets for $34. I bought two on closeout for $39+8.99 shipping two months ago. When I called the salesman was very helpful. I usually wear extra larg, but he said they run big. Large fits perfect. Bought one for my daughter, too. Zip out liner, elbow, shoulder and spine EC pads, velcro and zippers, and some reflector material. I ain't no clothes horse, but I know a deal when I see one. Check 'em out.

Sounds like a awesome deal.I'm going to go to the website and look them up.

This reminds me though.I should have bought winter gear at the beginning of spring when it may have been on sale.
But,I've just now decided to ride this winter. ::)

Note that those are only 150 denier polyester...They're going to have an abrasion resistance roughly that of a pair of blue jeans.

They're a deal, but for that armor to work, the fabric needs to stay in place and not tear away in the first ten feet of a slide.

King Kashue,
Thanks for the input about jackets being 150 denier. I used to ride 30 years ago with jeans and t shirt, so I guess this is a step up for me. Please be aware everybody I am not recommending these, but I like mine. We are all grown, and must make our own choices King Kashue is right on. Many years ago when motorcycle clothing was feeling its way along, one bike magazine did an unscientific test dragging different materials along asphalt. The only thing I remember was that leather came in last. Like I said, many years ago.

Are you serious? What do you consider cold mister...LOL. It does get in the 30's & 40's here....that's cold to me!  My water pipes froze and busted 3 times last winter. And I was outside fixing them. :o

And I'm just really jealous youzguyz....LOL....I may have to move to your area in the winter time! ;D
But Florida would be closer  :-/

Nah,I'll just buy winter gear...cheaper overall.
