Just looking over my $200.00 2005 S40 with 530 miles. Took off the seat, how do I put my saddle bags on with all the wiring under there?

Cut some of the thing that goes across the fender out so that little gadget doesn't get covered so it don't get hot.

I got so lucky getting this bike, have to sell my 04 VL800 due to the bad money times. Actually bought an AK-47 for a hundred bucks, put a hundred dollar stock on it, traded that for an AR-15, then traded that for a boat which I traded for the bike.

You can also cut the throw over yoke in two and loosen the fender rails and drop the yoke that you cut down in behind the rail and retighten the rail after you have the bag on straight. I probably should have done what you did, but elected instead to position it right where it needed to be, and didn't look back, just put the seat back on so I wouldn't see the leather strap going over the top of the rectifier. So far after 600 miles, so good.
The way I'm figuring, is that the rectifier gets hot only when the charging system is working hard. So, if the battery doesn't get run down, it should not heat up much,.......or I'm hoping it won't, anyways.

If you do hack relief into the leather strap, it will hold up better if you radius the inside corners.

Justin -- I think you sent me the same note the first time I posted that photo. Yes -- I rounded the corners after the photo was taken. I put the whole thing together before I got a new photo.
