Title: replaceable parts? Post by floggindave on 08/27/09 at 08:42:02 I was wondering how many people actually wanted to replace/have replaced the speedo in this thing. I dont so much mind the one now, but I'd kill for a trip odometer. Also was wondering if anyone knew where I could find floorboards for my bike, instead of the pegs. thanks Trav |

Title: Re: replaceable parts? Post by Skid Mark on 08/27/09 at 14:16:49 I hear you on the trip meter. Some use a 3 digit combo lock to record the milage at the last fill up. Simple elegant and inexpensive.Others use a grease pencil to jot down the milage at fill up. Simpler and even less expensive Still others like me have installed a bicycle computer. It works great. Mine's a Sigma. They need to be good for as fast as the bike goes. Mine's good for 100mph which leaves plently of room before maxing out. You get a spedo, trip meter and clock all in one. |
Title: Re: replaceable parts? Post by Gary On A Savage on 08/27/09 at 16:00:07 Go with the Sigma. Best IMHO. Floorboards need to customized. There's a mod in the tech section how to convert Harley passenger floorboards. I put Harley full size frunt adjustable floorboards on mine, but you have to drill out the hole and drill a hole in the top of the mounts for set screws. But anything can be done if you have the time/patience/tools/ingenuity. |
Title: Re: replaceable parts? Post by 4carbcorvair on 08/28/09 at 04:53:09 I fill up at the every 100 mile mark. Every time I go 100 miles, fill er up! |
Title: Re: replaceable parts? Post by voldigicam on 08/28/09 at 13:25:41 Schwinn wired (not wireless) bicycle speedometer. Rare earth magnets on the brake rotor, secured w/superglue as well. Tripmeter in 5.28' increments! Works great and I can see the speedo without looking down. |
Title: Re: replaceable parts? Post by seviersavage on 08/28/09 at 14:55:28 I didn't like the stock speedo setup so much that I moved it up on the handlebars and figured out a fuel gauge too. :o http://p1.bikepics.com/pics/2009/06/24/bikepics-1708121-full.jpg seviersavage |
Title: Re: replaceable parts? Post by jabman on 08/29/09 at 12:02:09 how on earth did you get that fuel gauge? i ran out of fuel today and diddent hit the reserve quick enough :(. still getting used to it |
Title: Re: replaceable parts? Post by seviersavage on 08/29/09 at 12:10:41 Yeah thats not really a fair post, to get a fuel gauge you have to install a tank from a bike that came with one. Seviersavage |
