How do you increase your idle speed ?

Theres a knurled headed screw near the choke. Screw in to raise RPM. Make sure its high enough, at all times, to keep good oil flow to the head.
I have to raise mine a bit when I ride away, then lower it once its warmed up all the way. Not a lot, but to keep a steady idle, yea.

The book says 1000 to 1200 rpm.

$30~$35.  Two wires, one wrapped around the spark plug wire, the other to ground.

Go online to Onida Suzuki and look at Drag Specialties #DS244133. This is the black face tach and their prices are the best around. I've had mine on over a year now.

Oneida Suzuki gouges too deep for me with their shipping charge...$18 shipping for a $56 tach.

I just use mine diagnostically.  I leave the wire in place and hook up the tach only when I think I need to adjust the idle.

I suppose you could mount it somewhere permanently, but the update rate on the tach is pretty slow for operational usage, IMO.

Can you access the spark plug wire without taking the tank off ,to attach the tach induction wire ?

Sort of.

I did not have to take the tank all the way off.  I just propped up the front of it enough to get access to the spark plug wire.
