Title: Turn Signal Beeper
Post by Bear on 08/12/09 at 09:34:22

Once or twice a week I forget to cancel my turn signal.  The dim lights way down on the tank are almost useless.  Sooner or later, I will forget to cancel and another driver will assume the signal means something and bad things will happen.
Has anyone installed a turn signal beeper? How is it working for you?  I see one in JC Whitney that says 86 decibels.  That seems a little too loud. Another option is to relocate the turn signal indicator lights up where they will be close to the line of sight.
I need to do something before it leads to painful contact with another vehicle or the asphalt. (and it would be all my fault)

There have been many messages about ways of doing this.

Here was my solution:

My version is crude; cheap 12V buzzer, it's negative straight to ground, positive to the signal wire from flasher relay to handlebar switch. Beeps in rhtym as long as turn signals run. Tape over the hole, since it's too loud. Works.

I too have been thinking of adding turn signal lights somewere in line of sight , possibly on the mirror stalks??

So far only in the thinking-about stage - but now I have everything else done I had on 'the list' i may get around to it.

Can anyonme tell me where the best place to hoo in to the turn signals would be??? i was thinkin maybe at the connection in th headlight.

Where does the turn signal relay live, and for ID purposes, what does it look like

Right hand side, up front, under the tank. Bend over and you can see it. I believe stock one is round, two wires, with rubber mount thingy around it.

I mounted these:    http://radlites.com/billet_mount.htm
on my turn signal stalks. I tied them in with the turn signal wire under the seat. They work perfectly and are very bright even during the day. I used a 1/4" CUSHIONED LOOP CLAMP to mount them. I plan on posting some pics soon.
