Title: lost tool cover
Post by onedivision on 08/03/09 at 02:29:31

Let me begin with my tool case cover was never right to begin with >:( It would open easy enough, but trying to get it back closed was always a nightmare(I won't even mention the cheesy rubber gasket) Anyway, one day I opened it & the same ol' bull - I couldn't get it closed. After finally thinking I had it closed, it was okay for a bit. Then. one eve. as I'm riding, I heard something & thought I'd just hit a piece of small trash (no big deal). A few days later, I noticed it was gone & the area where I lost it was high traffic spot. I went online to try & find a new one, to no avail. I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas, as I'm sure if I found one it would be out of my range now. Anybody have any sharp ideas on this one?  I'd appreciate hearing - Thanks, John

Yeah, ebay or wait for someone here to part out a bike they wrecked or bobbed.  Good luck!

I was going to take the silly plastic cover off of the battery box since it is in my way when working on the carb, but the I noticed it serves a function as a hook for the toolbox cover.

I HATE that plastic top piece.... GRRRR.

I used a little hacksaw and cut the hook that holds the toolbox cover on off of the rest of it... Tossed the rest of it away and mounted the hook to hold on the cover.

I may do something else with it when my bobbing is done, but I'm not sold on it yet.

I'd really like a totally different battery tray. I tried making one once, but it was a lot more work than I was ready for at the time.

I'd opt for one too if someone is feeling crafty... :)
